I always wear Missouri Highway Department Sunglasses when I ride. They look like old people cataract(sp) glasses... but they cover my perscription glasses and they are safety rated.. Twice now at around 70 mph, I've caught a bumble bee in the left lense.. how that little booger made it past the windshield is beyond me... I thank god I had those "old people" glasses on, cause it probably would have broke my glasses. There is nothing like wiping the side of your face, and pull back yellow crap on your hand!!! Just kept on crusing along!!! Not a care in the world!! Can't say that for the bug!!!

Half-helmet all the time and wiley-x spec ops "goggles" (sunglasses with foam pads), bugs, sand, rocks, windshield helps a little but some of that crap does get around it.

worst so far is not just one, but two herds (yep, herds) of junebugs at 60, sounded like a machine gun, and stung like a , think i ate one too, not bad, a little bitter but not bad , better than the little rock I took in the lip ...

can't imagine getting stung though ...

Couple months ago, a red wasp went right down my shirt. I pulled off at a gas station that I was just passing, and developed a whole new vocabulary, doing the "dance" trying to get my helmet and shirt off. He only stung me once, fortunately. Right in the middle of the chest. People were staring at me... Pffft... Whatever.

I have been hit by a lot of crap riding motorcycles.

I was running down a favorite old back-road with a few nice twists at around 90 mph and got nailed right in front of the right temple with a pecan, green husk and all. It almost took me out of the seat and I swear there was a squirrel in the tree I had rode under doing a under the uprights goal line dance but it may have just been hallucinations from the concussion .. LOL

Windsheilds and safety glasses always!

Passing a cattle truck on the hi-way is probably the worst.

We have a big Tyson chicken plant, in town. Getting stuck behind a chicken truck is worse than being stuck behind a garbage truck. *barf!*

Hey Bullfrog! I live in Ft Smith. You are right about the chicken trucks...did you ever get behind a rendering truck in July? I'm not real fond of Tyson's. Had a red wasp go in my left t-shirt sleeve at about 70mph. How can they sting you before they go SPLAT???? I had a softball size swelling instantly in my left arm pit!!! sorta smarted a little

about three years ago I hit a cicada. I was riding an old maxim and saw this big black dot moving around, next thing I knew it smacked me.. luckilly I was wearing a full face that day, the huge bug hit the chin guard. half the bug smeared up the shield blocking most of my vision, the other side left large welts on my neck.. without a full face I would've smallowed it at 60mph. anymore if I ride a bike without a windshield I wear a full face
