If you went the Darkside route, it wouldn't be "whitewalls", it would be "whitewall" (singular) wouldn't it???
It took awhile for me to get the courage to go with blackwalls because I thought it would look goofy with spokes & a white bike, but now I think I like it better. It kinda looks like a police bike. I DEFINATELY don't miss cleaning the whitewalls all the time!

Yea... Bob.... unless I wanted to paint the back one using a whitewall paint; which is available to do just that - but that doesn't seem to be reasonable to me.

I agree with you; your motorcycle does look good with the black walls on it.

I've seen a couple of threads on the Darksiders that says to use the stock tube. It will expand to fit. I would probably at least get a new one.

That's the first time I've heard that I don't see it expanding that much, and expand enough to give the proper height to the CT over a MT.

I'm always reading and searching so I'm not sure which forum I read it on.
I just searched on the "Riding ON the Darkside" forum (not to be confused with the "Riding the Darkside" forum) and found a few references to it.

That's true... unless you did what a member of another forum did. He had whitewalls vulcanized to both sidewalls of the car tire. He ended up spending slightly more than an M/C tire... but he got what he wanted!

Thanks, I only wish that I had aluminum wheels instead of spoked steel. I'd feel much more confident repairing a tubeless tire on the side of the road. I know some people have sealed up their spokes, but I'm still on the fence about doing that.

That would make it easier if I could stay with my stock tube.

White walls, vs black wall? I think I would miss the white walls, but I wouldn't miss cleaning them! Most people probably wouldn't even notice if you had a white wall car tire and only on one side. How often do they look at both sides?

Yeah, that's the tire database. You'll find me on there for "2007 Royal Star Venture". Lovin' every minute of it!

Someone said I have a Metz 880 on the front, No, It's a Pirelli Rear MC tire same size as a Stock Road* Front tire mounted in reverse rotation. (Backwards) It compliments a Darkside tire and lasts longer. Direct Bolt on,

I went with what had been gone with before since I am a rookie Darksider. I guess a Matz would do but I wanted to leave the testing up to people more experienced than me. A few said do that tire so I did and it's been great.

I did have a New DS tire with a used but still great tread Avon Front tire for about 500 miles maybe 800 I think it's a bad Idea. (I was waiting on the front over a holiday) If I were to go dark again, it would be both tires at once same day or within a day or two.

With the old tire it seemed the rear was a lot more sure fitted than the front. Once changed it leveled right out.
