Engine Painting 3 Years, 7 Months ago
Anyone ever taped up and painted the engine on a roadie? I have seen this done on other bikes all the time, I was thinking about trying to paint mine black but was wondering if anyone has done this before.

Thanks Wish I could claim the credit, but it was the idea of the guy who painted that bike.

We painted a Virago motor (which was silver from the factory) with a PJ1 paint designed specifically for motors. Looks great , and has withstood a gas leak and an oil leak (both repaired) , still looks as good as the day we painted it. BB

A guy I work with painted his VTX 1300 engine with high temp paint from an autoparts store. Then he took his dremel tool and sanded the edges of the fins. Looks really good after 2years.

I've always painted the jugs with high temp paint on my old shovel and never had any problems.
