I recently had my stock seat redone by mean city cycles. They suggested a gel/memory foam, I told em I wanted it lowered about an inch.It was $150 I have to say the bike is easier to ride, I guess because it was reshaped like after market seats, you sit down in it not slide around on top.

Ultimate is the ultimate. I can ride over 500 miles without bum pain and great quality product. It matches the stock pillion backrest so you can save a few bucks if you want. If you buy one, allow the proper breakin to adjust to it.

+1 on the '01 stock seat, can't say I've put that many miles on it but 2-3 hour trips and it is perfectly comfortable. rode a friends '05 out of Chattanooga (roughly 20-30 min) for him and didn't like that stock one at all, too flat

I did 220 miles on Sunday with a group doing the "wisconsin twisties" and had no problems with the seat, but it did rain.

Re:Seat Issues 2 Years, 7 Months ago
I had the same experience with my stock seat...20 miles and I felt like I needed to get off for a while. I tried an AirHawks seat cushion but didn't like the disconnected feeling of sitting on a thin air cushion. I heard about a sheep skin cover on the RSC, made by Alaska Leathers, and tried that. The improvement was unreal. I would eventually like to try an Ultimate seat, but don't get the opportunity to ride as much as I would like and can't justify the cost. The sheep skin cover certainly made a world of difference for me.

+ 1 on the Ultimate...might find one used. I recommend the backrest highly.
