Hey nasomi....I have a buddy that did your switch idea on his Electra Glide. He mounted 2 toggle switches up on his trees. He kept the starter button in place on the control housing though. He then totally removed the key assembly. He kept the fork lock on so he can secure it as it's now startable without a key.

Good luck on cleaning yours out. Sounds like you got some gunk down inside the shaft.

250WIDE: i just got a hotop dual coil mount and new kew switch from bms chopper. I cant figure out how to wire the factory 4 wires to it. factory wires are red,blue-black,blue-yellow, brown-blue.... the new switch ...

Erbman02: well, the other 2 wires are not connected for a reason at the key switch until the key is on. I'd check ...new key switch help
