Schism,

Like so many of these other guys... I just eliminated the pump. Found the smallest in-line filter at Autozone. Ran the line just over the intake, with the filter in line just before it went over the intake and down to the carb inlet tube. Cut the main fuel feed tube in the petcock down by 1/2 inch, and the results have been just great.

I didn't have to do any of the other little mods. I'm thoroughly pleased with the results... wanna buy my fuel pump?

...no thanks... but i'll have a broken one for sale real soon! lol

tubing, squeeze clamps that fit the tubing. remove the carb screen if your using a filter. camera, for your friends at the roadstarclinic. remove the pump, old filter, bracket, and move the choke to the tank bolt. Wrap the wires that went to the pump with a bit of thick plastic and a rubberband and wiretie the harness for the pump back onto the main harness. I don't know if there is a relay that should be removed or a fuse to pull in case the thick plastic fails and the fuel pump wires contact the body and short out, but I imagine that will only happen once. (lol). You may need extra wire if you want to relocate the horn to the spot where the fuel pump was (ala harley).

Hey VWT,
i think i'm just gonna "do it"

I like the idea of installing the choke nob to the tank bolt
and the horn where the pump is....

How long should this mod take me?

Anybody know where to get 13370-08F50 (the Suzuki needle set) for less than $50 ?! This seems ridiculous to me!

I haven't read all the posts on this thread, but here's my 2cents. DO IT!!!!You have to think of this as a re-vamp of your fuel delivery system. I'll start at the top.
-Vent your gas cap well.
-Use a Pingle fuel valve, or remove the plastic filter off the stock
fuel valve.
-Use a Pingle fuel filter or a good fuel filter.
-Run the fuel line under the intake manifold.
-Remove the small plastic fuel filter from the carb. inlet.
-Get the suzuki 2.5mm fuel valve, It's worth the $$$$$
-Here's the tricky part, be ABSOLUTELY sure the float bowl level is
set properly. This will take at least 2 to 3 trys. Use the ODO
method.
-While it is disasembled install a Barons (pms) thumbscrew.
-Jet accordingly; that's a whole different chapter.
Good Luck.

Cheapcycleparts.com has it for $39.84 but with shipping its still over $50 if you want it ya gotta pay the price. Probably cheaper than a fuel pump that will invariably go out in the middle of nowhere.

Try it with the stock set first, some have found it to work ok..or if ya feel lucky, you could drill out the stocker, It's been done, sometimes they leak and sometimes they don't...
