I have a riding buddy with those on his HD. I thought about making some for mine and already made a pattern and figured out where to mount them. Only thing is I don't want them on in the winter.

Re:harley heat sheild 2 Months, 1 Week ago
I hate to bring up such an old thread and was going to start a new one because I think the title of this one is a tad bit misleading.

I was wondering if anyone knew of heat shields for the Road Star for the inner thigh/crotch area? The rear jug has burned me and I am not looking forward to it again.

Thanks,
Jason

Check out this website, looks like what you need. I have been thinking about getting a local leather guy to make me some.

this is a problem that affects the twin cam series more than the evos.

it´s down to smaller oilways, higher pressure in the oiling system, and leaner mixture to get an air-cooled engine through emmissions testing. the 88´s ran hot, the 96´s cook your pods, the new 103´s i´ve yet to ride, but i´m expecting microwave.

the vulcan 1700 vaquero also runs bloody hot - hotter than a tc96. with the 40+ºc temps we have here, various owners have gone to kawasaki saying that they are insufferable. kawasaki say `i´ts normal´ and do nothing.

I have a very, very rough picture of the pattern that I scanned into my computer if anyone is interested.

Finished product:

Here is a small copy of my really rough pattern (I can email the larger version to anyone interested):
