Friend Went Down, Need Parts 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Last week my friend in our riding club went down... basically, he couldnt see the taillights of the truck in front of him due to the sun shining in them... so, he couldnt tell if they were on or not and it was in stop and go construction traffic... The truck slammed on his brakes at the last minute to make a left turn, my friend locked up his rear brakes and to avoid hitting the rear, he went to the left of the yellow (no oncoming traffic) and that is when the truck actually turned left and rolled over him and his bike... Amazingly enough, there were no broken bones and no head trauma... just a lot of deep tissue bruising...

so with that said... this is a parts list that he needs... this is a 2001 Road Star

both front forks with fork tins, prefer chrome, but he is working on a budget - RSR forum
turn signal bar - Thanks Curt!
both turn sigs
Front fender, paint color doesnt matter, getting repainted - I donated my spare one
Memphis Shades windshield, med height about 17" to 19" - Greg found a cheap Fairing
Yammi Big Bar engine guard - ordered a new one
left passenger peg mount - Thanks Bronson
Yammi Passenger backrest pad, contoured with studs - Thanks FrankW and moreland4!
left stock mirror assembly - RSR Forum
Sliverado stock handlebars - Thanks Moreland4!
stock risers, prefer chrome, but he is on a budget - Thanks Gram!
Stock leather saddlebags, both sides, with studs, the brackets are bent inwards, but I am sure I can heat them and put them back into proper position - found a cheap set

I still need to check the front wheel to see if it is bent or not, but if anyone has one, let me know a price... No Wheel needed, his is not bent

I will add more as I find it... Thank you all for your kindness...

Was he insured? Glad to hear he's OK.

I have a stock seat and passenger seat.

It would be a good time for him to go to ghost brackets with new bags. How's the exhaust?

I have a set of Yamaha aftermarket Chrome risers. But they are the tall ones (about 6" ). I have three of the chrome tightening allen head bolts, and one that is not chrome (not too obvious when installed).

Your friend is welcome to them for the cost of shipping. They are used but in good shape, and sitting around collecting dust.

Your friend will be in my thoughts and prayers for a quick and speedy recovery from his injuries.

I think I may have a light bar but no front turn signals. I do have rear turn signals so he could replace the sockets in them with ones for 1157 bulbs and make them work for the front signals. I will check and see what else I might have. If he wants them just for shipping let me know. Glad he is OK.

Thanks Curt! A fella over on the RSR site has the turn sigs, so that will work out great... how much for shipping to Brasstown, NC 28902?

Greg is actually starting to get around the house a little bit... I have been helping handling most of the stuff with the bike... Thanks for your thoughts

StoneColdStar, I've given a lot of my stock pieces away or I would love to help out. I do have a set of stock handlebars (not Silverado) you can have. All the best to your friend!
