New Member - New to me Midnight Silverado 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Just wanted to say hello. Just got my first Cruiser (swapped from Suzuki GSX1400 naked retro). The bike is imported 2005 Midnight Silverado (Nevada or Colorado - can't remember which) by my local dealer. Love the bike, hated how quiet it was so did some fetling with the Dremmel and it now has 8 holes in each muffler and I'm very happy. I'm still unsure of the handling (only been out twice), it isn't a confident ride and I don't know if its normal or the shocks knackered and the tires are too hard. Its got the original shock and Dunlop 404 tyres with plenty of tread (but I don't know how old they are), I need to change something though as I'm not enjoying the ride yet (very nervous going into bends because I feel the backend will let go), I generally don't ride fast either.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I said, I love the bike and just need to put it right.

keep in mind it is a lot different from what you came off of..that said, the rear shock is adjustable so that may be an option..

justbrowsing. Like FB said, this is a different ride than you're used to. I'd check those tires/tyres too for cracks, tread wear, etc., as well as the rear shock. Did the bike come with maintenance papers to show what's been done to it?

Check those 404's for tire blocking... basically the tire starts cutting edges and makes the ride squirrly... 404's suk in my opinion... you may also want to give your bike a brief checkover for wheel bearing wear and neck bearing wear...
