I know it has been discussed and argued before, but I have a Metz ME880 size 180 on my rear with no cutting grinding or anything. Has never rubbed once.

Hmmm...I wanted to put a Metz 170 on mine but was told a 160 was as big as I could go without mods. Next time, I'll try harder.

I'm 250 Ha ha OM shows how to adjust the spring. 32 mm Nuts on shock turn em in up to 2 in I think, (Look at OM for distance to measure from, sorta like center of eye to edge of nut) at 240 alone 1.5 to 1.75 should be about right. Trouble is, once you move them I found you have to use a gob of JB water Weld to hold them in place or they ultimately move back to no pre load in like 500 miles. Or you can clip or wire the threads. Just be advised they work loose and it starts to bottom out again. With my tire, no problems two up and loaded to the max on a trip. No rubbing.
