Been using this Jack for 3 years now and it is great.Really stable and when down is very low to the ground.Have had 30K Ultra Classics on it and Goldwings with no problem-even run the bikes on the stand if needed. We spend 10K plus for our rides and then want to get by with a 59.00 jack stand?Oh well what ever works for ya.

Re:Jack Stands 2 Years, 3 Months ago
The problem I run into is I lowered my bike 1.5” front and 2“ in the rear. A 2x6 does not get it up high enough to get my jack stand under. So I used a 2x8 add glued and screwed a 1X8 to it for more height and cut a wedge to the front side 3x8. It takes me a few tries to drive the bike up on the mini ramps because one or both ramps slide on my concert floor. Once up on the ramp I have to slide another 3x8 piece under my kick stand. Then dismount from the bike and slide the jack stand underneath the bike. It is a real pain to do it by myself. I just wish there was a jack stand that would fit under the bike. I looked at using scissor jacks like the ones a local bike shop uses but they seemed to be over priced to me. Getting it up on my jack stand is easy to do when there is someone else helping but most of the time I do not want to wait for someone to help so I do it alone.

Gostrider, if you know anyone in the trucking business, get them to give you a rubber mat that they set wooden skids on. you can cut it up and atttach to your boards to stop them from slipping. I know what you mean about putting your bike on the lift by yourself. [makes me nervous!] I gave my wife a quick course on how my lift works, I hold the bike and she runs the lift.
