Then again, mine has always been a "desert bike" in that it's lived its entire life in Arizona & New Mexico, neither of which is known for it's humidity (today's max humidity is 19%). Also, no salty sea air anywhere near here... Even though she lives in the garage, she gets a bath at least once a month because of the salt air. I have to keep the Yami passenger floor boards very clean or they rust... and I bought the expensive ones.
