there is nothing wrong with having the red mcycle jack from sears. just be aware if you lift from to rearward position and you take off the back end enough it will fall forward nose to the ground easily. you just have to be smart when your doing somthing and think ahead.

I paid the extra money for the J&S jackstand. Maybe it was a peace of mind thing, but the jack is a rock and I have never had any problem with it.

Re:Jack Stands 2 Years, 7 Months ago
I have had the Sears Red jack for about 2 1/2 years and my scoot has been on many and up and down ride on it with no issues. I am pretty careful to get the load pretty even front to rear and it is pretty stable when I work on it. If I am doing any serious torquing I usually lower it to the point both wheels are in contact with the ground to give it more stability. The last time I strapped it down was when I did the fork oil change as I was removing a lot of weight from the front and it gave me peace of mind to know that it was strapped down.

J&S Jack is the BEST! You're not settling for second best. It will hold your bike with or without wheels, forks, what ever you want to do. You can roll the bike around on it and feel secure. I will be getting one soon myself!

They are made about 20 miles south of me and 15 miles north of Greyphart. About $100 more than the sears jack, but worth every penny.

Anyone want to buy my Sears Yellow jack? I'm getting one of the J&S jacks! Link

No thanks. I've already got the sears red AND yellow one sitting in my garage.

Looks like a great jack. I have the Sears yellow jack as I use it to jack up the Road star as well as my dirtbikes. The yellow jack comes with two 3" risers to place on the base that gets my dirtbikes up a bit higher. With the risers removed the jack fits perfectly under my Star. It has always been stable and I have never had the bottom of my stomach feeling like it was going to topple when working with the bike jacked to it's highest. The base of the yellow jack also works well for placing drain pans. The J&S looks like it has gear in the middle area so you may need to get creative with the drain pans depending.
