Platinum Boarder Posts: 1705 Alternative parts, lube, etc. 3 Years, 1 Month ago   I notice that some have a hard time finding some maintenance items we need for our bikes... OR some are marked up so high that we don't WANT to get them from Yamaha. I've worked in auto parts for the last 30 years so I used that experience to find a few alternatives. They are parts that will fit and are easier to find or they are less expensive than factory but they are all available at either Nissan,Toyota or Honda car dealers. It's only a few numbers now but if I find more I'll add to them. Also, that's in CDN. I am using the purolator pure one but will use the super tech the next change. If I can find it I'll post it again. The filters that I had on the list were both the long and short Nissan oil filters. They spec out the same as the Yamaha filter including the bypass pressure. When I was working at a Nissan dealer that's what I used. Part#'s 15208-31U00 and 15208-9E000.
