Doc is someone everyone knew and depended on. Everyone that has served knows what I am talking about. I spent by time in the Cav with the D Trp 2/9 (Air), 5/17 Cav, 4/7 Cav, 5/15 Cav among some infantry assignments. I had seen and admired the hell outta the AC-130A when I was in service, but later on I saw the AC-130H Spectre with the 105mm Howitzer and it just shocked the livin stuff outta me when I saw a video of one in operation, WOW !!, a 19,600 hp, 61 ton, 300 mph, onboard infrared guided M102 artilery piece, with a 1300 mile range, that can drop in from 25,000 feet up, just awesome. Then there's the twin 20mm and a 40mm cannons .... I have often wished I would have stayed in for the duration though; but at the time... when my tour was up I just wanted out. If I had it to do over, I think I would have went to officer school - only for a better paycheck after twenty. Anyway, hindsight is always 20/20!
