Help! I just don't sit right on my Roadliner 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Ok guys, I know most everyone here has the Roadliner, and you all seem to be over 6' tall. I am 5'9" with short inseam (30) and I just don't seem to fit right on this bike.

I had to install some aftermarket risers to push the handlebars back, and now they are more comfortable. But my feet feel like I am pushing them too far up. I ride a Gold Wing as well, and it could be that I just got comfy with the way I sit on it. I also had a VTX 1800 and I sit nice on it as well. I think I would like to move the foot boards back like 4-5", but of course the engine is in the way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

socaltazboy, we're actually a Road Star forum, just FYI. You might get some better help at the 'Liner forum:
http://forums.delphiforums.com/starroadliner/start

But, there are a few 'Liner owners here as well, so someone just might chime in.

Wow now this is a first for me to read. Most guys love the yamaha due to how the floor boards are positioned. In my heart I believe that you just need to get use to the different riding position. I had the same thing happen to me. I have rode my R* for 8 years and I purchased a harley electra glide.I'm only 5'7" 29" inseam! It took some getting use to having my feet back more under my body rather then stretched out. If you ride this new bike long enough it should start to feel more comfortable as your brain will adjust to the change. I really don't think you could move the floor boards back 4-5". You might get away with 2" by making some special brackets but you will be forced to get a shorter shift linkage rod and that would have to be custom made along with your floor board brackets, but anything is possible!

Yeah I sat on a Liner yesterday and it's just too big. I'm 5'8", and I felt like I was on someone's daddy's bike

I want the motor in that bike, but I want it in my R* frame!!!

If it's a new bike to ya, could be whats known as "muscle memory" you get so use to one particular riding ergonomics, your muscle cell recall that position. could possible take a few rides to shake the feeling.

One of the after market seats like the Ultimate or the Mustang will give you the feeling of pushing you forward, lowering you closer to the ground too so you might like the position better. Your knees are bent more like sitting in a chair than the stock position.

Give it some time , although the handlebar move was a smart one. I think you will grow accustomed (?) to the position , and it will become 2nd nature to you. At 6 foot 4 , I'm still looking for room. BB

I'm another vertically challenged RS rider and the Ultimate seat and DT risers with 2" pullback and no rise got the job done for me.
