I can't find any adjustment hints in my service manual. Turning that boot by the knob tightens down the hold on the choke cable. Play with it until you get the right amount of "stick". I took my choke cable apart at the knob end and found a detent ball that was worn flat about half way through. I purchased the correct size ball bearings and installed one to replace the worn out ball. This did the trick for me. While your there have you trimmed the back of the choke knob?
