barbosa,

"If my doc can't get my BP down, I'm gonna have more compression than my bike."

You're not riding enough, my BP comes down every time I ride.

Dave, I've noticed that when I get about 2 miles from home on the way in, I feel my BP going up. If I can make it to Key West and back, I should be in perfect health.
By the way, thanks to everybody who has shown such an interest in joining in. Still got a few months before we try this, so maybe Santa will bring me a few parts I'd like to change over on the bike.
Hey Bob, almost made it over around Saltillo today, but had to change plans.

When you guys get to Key West go to the Schooner Warf Bar and listen to a guy named Michael McCloud. He plays there all the time. He's really good!

Re:the 2 guy key west ride 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Back in the day, my first stops were always Margarittaville, Capt Tony's and Sloppy Joes. But, as I mentioned, I haven't hit KW in about 7 years, so I know things have changed. Some for the better...some for the worse. And yeah, I wanna get a pic of the Road* sitting next to the buoy 0mm.
But, everybody that wants to make this has plenty of time. We're not gonna make the trip till next spring...gotta take care of some things around here before I take off for 2 weeks (or more ). And, the changes to the bike...apes, forwards, new bags, etc. It's one of those wintertime things to look forward to in the spring.
Also thinking thinking about dropping the fuel pump. Bike only has 3400 miles on it, but some threads I've looked at make me a little cautious.
Datewise...looking at end of April right now. Too dam many things here I have to plan around. Yeah, seems a long time away, but it's kind of like a kid in July looking forward to Christmas. Gonna be one of my last long rides, and I just want to make sure I have it all together when I leave my driveway.
Also, when the time comes, I'll need cell# for those down south who want to join up. No big deal right now...just don't want to mis anyone when we start rollin.
And...it ain't just a Road* thing. My bro rides a Road King, and he'e the one that started all this. So, looks like there will be a Hardly Dangerous in the crowd. Doesn't matter about that. Bike's a bike.
For now...getting the bike ready...along with everything else....
Dear Santa...I want a.....and a....

I am originally from Homestead (about 3 hours from Key West) and have done that ride a bunch of times. Where else can you ride where you have one ocean on your right and another on your left? The 7 mile bridge is amazing! On the way back we always take cardsound road and stop at Alabama Jacks - best conch fritters around! Make sure you stop at Irish Kevins and the Bull and Whistle (clothing is optional at the top of the Bull). I still have family in Homestead so we would definitely have a backyard to crash in. My mother still lives there and her back yard is like an oasis - pool, hot tub, and plenty of palm trees! Count me in!

Also if you can plan it for St. Patricks Day Weekend there is a HUGE party down there called the Suds Run. They block off Duval Street and once you get to Ricks it's a tradition to crawl across the street to Sloppy Joes. The famouse Duval Crawl! I went for about 12 years in a row and haven't been in about 4. I am getting pumped up already!!! Is it spring yet!!!!

Great offer on the backyard Shamrock. What does your mother think about being invaded?? lol
Haven't been to KW since 04, and even then, they were selling off "old" property for condo construction, and that was kind of sad. And the beaches were closed on my last trip becuz of pollution.
Just hope they don't or haven't destroyed all the "rum runner" history behind KW.
Sad to say, not spring yet. All it does here in NE MS these days is rain. I'de love to make it for the St Paddy's Day thing. Drag out my real Irish ancestry. I'll do some talking to bro here about it and see what that looks like for him.
