Shark Radio System DISASTER 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Well after giving such high reviews a couple weeks ago things have gone downhill and very quickly, first about a week ago the radio funtion just stopped working, no matter what I tried the radio would not and did not work AT ALL, only sound I could get was from the IPOD plug in function, not a real big deal as I didn't use the radio that much anyway..... Well then things got worse going down the road and one speaker stopped working, I thought it was just the RCA cable coming unplugged, no biggy when I get home will plug it back in RIGHT???? WRONG!!!!! I turned the whole system off on the way home as not to take a chance on blowing the other speaker, so I get home and nothing just doesn't work anymore, well I am a bit annoyed but the girlfriend says she can't hear it while riding anyway and I figure I will just take the speakers off while I check on the warranty tonight or tommorrow and see what I can come up with from there. So I take the broken speaker off and things go fine, I go to take the second speaker off and when I get it loose and ask her to hold it till I can get around and unplug the RCA from the amp/radio, I go to walk around the bike and her and I bumped her arm and she kinda.....sort of.....dropped the speaker, but not really as it only fell about two inches from her one hand to another, never hit anything except the palm of her hand and it BREAKS IN TWO....... NOW I AM just a little beyond upset I must say it is probably a good thing Lee Ann was with me in the garage, or it would have been air-mailed as far as I could have thrown the &*%^&$^%& thing. I looked at the broken speaker and the plastic looked like a rice crispy treat, there is no way it was gonna last much longer, plastic was in horrible shape and surprised it stayed together as long as it had. Well not gonna contact them on the warranty before I calm down but as far as it stands right now things not looking good.

I'm sorry as well, but if this is that really inexpensive, too good to be true deal recently shown on this site..... then you're the one who found out for the rest of us that it was too good to be true. Sounds like one of those you get what you pay for moments. We've all had them. Thanks for jumping in first. I was considering one too. Please let us know how the company responds.

I ended up buying that POS worthless system too! The unit had a mind of it's own and would skip songs, shut off, had no power, etc, ended up filing the "amp" in the trash and keeping the speakers, which seem to be O-K. I bought a small amp from E-Bay for 18 bucks shipped and mounted it under the seat. Ran the RCA to mini cord under the tank to my mp-3 player on my left handlebar. Now it is a pretty bitchin' sounding system and trouble free. Also got the 8 gig. mp3 player for 28 bucks shipped, which was a smokin'deal. Will try to post pics of the gear and install a little later.

Sorry to hear your troubles. The are lots of "great deals" out there.
I installed a Uniq system; it's more expensive than the rest but compare & you'll see why.

I have the new Premium system. The first speakers were very good but I wasn't completely happy with them. If you had stock pipes they would be perfect. I complained and they sent me a set of Polk speakers NO CHARGE and FREE shipping - I was flabergasted & I keep the original speakers.

Kristopher is great and is sincerely interested in keeping thier customers happy.

That stinks. I hate when that kind of thing happens. Been there, done it, just a different widget.

shark make 3 different systems , i have had 2 , first the 100 watt on a vstar 1100, with stock gutted pipes could hear it till about 55-60 then turn vol. up to max and it distorted, 2nd i got a 600 watt system with 5 inch speaker on my roadie i turn my ipod up to 2 click before max and i can hear it up to 65-70 with v&h longshots if i max out the vol it distorts also, i read about the ipod and it seems to have distortion problems in the last 2 clicks of the vol before max, am i blaming ipod instead of shark NO, but i plugged into my phone and no distortion, conclusion: it is a get what u pay for for under a $100 its ok until u can put some real stuff on there but then again i dont know if any makes em loud enough for me

CPO,
I have the same system, for almost a year now. It's an okay system, if the company doesn't help you out, I have an extra pair of speakers. When I bought the system one of the speakers came with a ding on it. they sent me 2 new speakers. If you want the original one's you can have them, just pay shipping.
