VERY nice bike and great price, too!
How does your girl do in handling the new scoot?
Ray
we're workin on it. She has ridden a sportbike for the last 7 years...... she has a problem turning left on the big bike
she's good at riding though, takes some getting used to.

Great year! Just like mine before I started adding little things here & there. Look at my profile pic.

Cool, I showed my wife. I am trying to talk her into getting her own bike. She took the MSC a couple of years ago and did good until the final test ride. She didn't do to well with that and failed (they were very hard on her, as they should be). She didn't want to ride after that in frustration. I found out after the fact that she was in an intermediate course. She did a show up stand by on the start of the class (Classes are always booked up and stand buys can get in if there are no-shows). She had not rode a bike before and should have gotten into the beginners course but didn't know. Anyway Now that I have my Roadstar, I have been showing her some V Star 650's which fit her well and just maby she will try it again. She enjoys riding with me but I know she would really like having her own bike. I just need to get her to take the class again, the proper one this time.

I took Scootergirl out on a V-Star 650 for her first time driving, she did really well, but we looked at possibly getting her a V-Star 950 instead. I would love to get her on a 1300 if I could, she's a big girl, I think she could handle it just fine.

yea it's a lot of bike for her right now but with her riding experience, i knew she would outgrow the smaller bikes too fast. Go big or go home
Thanks for the kind words guys, she has had a lot of fun reading all the nice things you are saying. Keep it up!
BTW I just got home from dropping it off at the shop to get the carb cleaned out, new carb needle kit, drain the old gas, 25pt inspection, etc to get it running tip-top. Ill change the engine and transfer oil when I get it back.
The carb is definitely gunked up with old gas and had trouble idling after start up. But on the freeway it was smooth as glass and actually shifted with less effort than my bike.

Great looking bike at a great price!
One suggestion... think about a new set of tires. Even though they look good and new with no wear they can easily be dry rotted with that number of years on them.
