Y is the right side axle adjuster behind the axle? 2 Years, 7 Months ago

Maybe I'm crazy, but it doesn't seem to make sense to me that the right side axle adjuster pushes the axle FORWARD. Is there some reason for this that I'm missing? Shouldn't both sdjusters be in front of the axle, pushing it back?

How does it pull it back? I changed my rear tire a few weeks ago, and when I put the wheel back on I changed the bolt over to the front side as it should be. Unless the previous owner did something different or I'm missing something obvious, that bolt on the rear was pushing on the axle, forward.

This may show better how it is supposed to be:

The bracket where the adjuster bolt threads into slides over the axle, and the adjuster bolt pushes on the back of the swingarm, pushing the wheel back when you thread the bolt in.

it pulls it back - if you look closer its a bracket that the axle slides thru

Duh, now I see. I knew I had to be missing something obvious. Now can anyone tell me the length, diameter, and thread count of that bolt? I'll need to pick up another one since I chopped mine down to fit on the front side of the axle!

Anything wrong with cutting that clunky bracket off the backside and just using the bolt on the front side like I have it now?

its just comes off, no need to cut. surprised it didn't fall off when you did your tire swap?

I think it was done this way from Yamaha so you could adjust the rear without the exhaust getting int the way.
