Thanks for the warm welcome. I`m pretty frustrated with this whole transmission recall deal. I only have 8,000 miles on my bike.I`m an easy rider too.I can`t find a punch mark near the vin but a local dealer says the vin shows the recall being done in Dec.`04. I just finished one of those motorcycle repair courses online and have wrenched on Harley`s in the past.I can`t afford to take it in and will probably try to do the work myself. I`m gonna get hold of the NTSB or whoever it is and push for a recall. If I can`t get Yamaha to do anything about it,I`ll be back here a lot asking questions and getting input.
