Hello fellow Roadstar riders 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I have been coming to this site for a while now and have been enjoying reading everything on this site.Now I have a problem. The other day I was riding along and all of a sudden there was a small clink-clink sound and 5th gear was gone. I have a 2003 silverado with only 8,000 easy miles on it. All I heard was that clink sound.All other gears work fine. Any ideas?

Has the recall been done? There is a recall on the transmission for a circlip that can break and possibly lock up the engine.

I also heard that Yamaha was lookin into the 5th gear issue... the original recall is for the 4th gear... 5th gear is something totally different... good luck and I hope they fix it...
