I just received the patrol bags for an anniversary present. Got them mounted and I am pleased. The size is good, the look is nice and finish is fair. I agree, the carpet could be better. On the other hand they are completely lined. They hinge on the outside and latch in the back. I ordered mine from "Value accessories" for $576 painted black and including the upgraded lockable latch.(free shipping)

Also, the send plenty of good hardware to make mounting in any position pretty easy.

I will try and get some pictures up in the next couple days.

Between the tricky air ride, new bags and getting ready to change bars, the scoots coming along.

I like those bags. If I didn't have the Yama bags already, I would get some that look like those.

I'm actually purchasing the patrol bags next week and was wondering two things. I have an 06 Roadie metallic black.
1. Will the finished black they send this match the bike close enough for me to avoid having them painted.
2. Which mounting kit should I get the bike specific or general mounting kit. I'm not handy at all with stuff like this and do not want to have to drill holes and well you know the rest.

The black is pretty good on mine. I am pleased with the match for a while. It is very thin so use plenty of painters tape when mounting. Any little scratch goes through.

I ordered and like the non-specific mounting. It allows for positioning to look the best with your pipes. The specific just predrills the holes and I wasn't sure how they would look. It is pretty easy, just use painters tape and line them up and painters tape to drill the holes and keep from chipping the fiberglass.

I also found that the little short sharpies, about 3" long worked the best to make your drill hole marks. They are short enough to get in behind the bags and make your marks. You can find them at all office supply stores.
