Try and put a couple pics up with the rear fender cut down due to cracking.

Posting pics on this site has never been an easy thing so don't feel bad. Most forums have to limit their storage size so it's understandable.

Now as far as that fender goes if you have a passenger on and it's the slightest bit wet out I would make sure thay have some sort of wet gear on. And if that back tire wants to pick up any road debris you may find that the back of your/your passenger shirt will be collecting it.

The chrome trim looks pretty good though. What caused the cracking?

Yeah, I know what you're saying on the water and road debris. Tha wife dont ride so thats my time. I can stand to get a bit wet and dirty for my riding time. I believe the reason it cracked is the vibration of the rear fender, thats the only thing I can think of. There is a forum on here about reinforcing the rear fender and saw that after mine was already cracked. Figured I would try to chop it myself before I committed to buyin a new yamaha, or aftermarket fender and have it painted you know. Didnt think it turned out too awful for a die grinder and a file. The roughest thing was mounting the turn signals and the brake light so I could keep the rear pad and sissy bar just incase I had a passenger. Go fast and try to outrun the road spray!

I thought the cracking was a well known problem, due to the "wagging of the tail" as my daughter refers to it as. Mine is cracked as well, when idling, it shakes pretty hard. Can't say I've inspected it while riding though. Looks nice, I have been thinking of doing something like this as well.

That would look outstanding if you had a Darkside tire on there!
