Putting a 250 rear on a Roadstar? 2 Years, 6 Months ago
So what's it take? Besides the obvious new rear fender, do you need a different swingarm? How about the belt offset, is there a kit or something to move it all over? Check out this bike on ebay, it's what gave me the idea...

you need a different swingarm, offset front pulley, new fender, and if you like to ride 2-up that is no longer possible(you lose the inner fender support)

I would just use a custom fender and weld some internal struts in there to support a passenger, I'll figure that out on the fly. Basically there are no mods required forward of the swingarm though, other than the fender mounting and offset pulley, correct? No need to offset the motor or anything like that?

BTW, just for the archives, looks like BMS makes everything you need, and they have a pretty good deal on a swingarm exchange.

You can do a 240 in the stock swingarm. It takes some work. Do a search Ive talked about it several times or pm me. Crash

i have a 240 with only modifing your brake set up in the stock swing arm a 250 will fit the stock swing arm but there is more extreme mods done to the swing arm wouldn't recomend. for my 240 i took the stock fender and cut it down the middle and added 4"then took the sub frame and made a jig that the frame would bolt into then widened the jig 4" cut the sub frame down the middle bolted it to the jig and filled in the gap and you can runthe stock front pulley if you go to a 1" belt but i did go to a .25 offset on the front just so the belt would run in the middle
