After one ride in cold air and you won't care how much they shine or don't. The calming of the breeze around you would be worth putting them on if they were donkey poop brown instead of nice and shiny. I love my lowers and wish I'd put 'em on much earlier.

Congratulations on the new lowers....if you get a vibration noise at certain speeds,it is the bar the lowers are mounted to hitting the turn signal bar just under the headlight on the left and right. The space between the bars are about an 1/8 of inch but when the lowers deflect they make a hell of a racket....I wedged rubber between the bars and now all vibration noise is gone.

If I go to the HD dealer parts department what are the part numbers I need for my '02? I've got a set of plastic lowers that don't do all that well; too much gap or not enough coverage.

No, not Bucks; I picked them up at Scootworks. The original mounting was a aluminum clamp around the fork but it broke so I bolted it to the lower holes in the windshield mounting bracket. Helps some but I get a lot of wind even with chaps fastened to the crash bar. I've read some good things about Bucks, but I've not been willing to spend the bucks (pun intended). At any rate, I understand that the HD lowers are shiny, which speaks to the firefly in me, you know; "shiny!"

Just got back from my first ride with my new lowers on. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I would have bit the bullet sooner. The difference is amazing. There is no vibration, but I still am on the lookout for different spacers for the top. There was a thread on here onece not too long ago about a web site that had all kinds of hardware like that but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone remember that?

I used plastic spacers from Lowes. You can Chrome tape them. Steel seemed to cause vibration I remember. Mine did not vibrate at any speed and i went to a MS fairing, I sure do wish I kept my old set up, I have a TON of wind now that I did not have with a Silverado WS and HD lowers, sealing the deal with Leader Products Desert Dawgs, I was almost windless. With the Fairing and Desert Dawgs Minus the HD lowers I may as well not have anything on the front. Gigantic blast of wind and no where to bolt lowers.
