bike cuts out at idle 2 Years, 6 Months ago
i have a 2006 silverado and when i am at idle and crack into it it stalls and sometimes actually quits running. it will also do this sometimes when i come to a stop light and pull in the clutch. if i run the choke out a quarter it will not do this. i have been told that i might have a dirty jet. any suggestions

Very possible - have you tried the easy stuff like fuel treatment? Seafoam http://www.seafoamsales.com/motor-treatment/index.html is a good one. Also, how does she run while driving at road speeds with choke open ?

Usually a bike that will only run with the choke on has a clogged pilot jet (from my experience).

Is it all stock? Idle set too low? Does it do it when cold or after fully warmed? The stock carb does not like a real fast blip of the throttle either, especially cold. The slide on the carb moves up by vacuum, a real fast turn of the throttle sometimes doesn't allow the vacuum to catch up as quick and not as much gas get thru.

doesn't really matter if the bike is warm or not but the bike will run with the choke out a quarter not all the way out. i will try some seafoam this sounds like the general consensous. i tried some gas treatment and carb cleaners before. thanks and if you think of any thing else let me know.

There are gas treatments and carb cleaners, but there is only one SeaFoam. I found out about it here and have started to use it in all my gas engines, mowers and weed wackers, leaf blowers, car, truck, and even in my boat Great stuff!

Did this issue just start? Did you do some work on the bike then it started this issue? Is idle set correctly? Could be some dirt in pilot jet and no cleaner will get a piece of dirt out.
