Very well could have. I have yet to see a full syn at 50w having friction modifiers. But easy to tell, takes all of a second, look at the API circle, if the lower part of the circle has nothing written there, good to go. Look at one that has something written there so ya know exactly.

Erbman02: I just got back form a test ride using the Mobil1 15W50 synthetic. Bike pulled like freight train (new Barnett clutch), no clutch slippage and ran nice and quiet. And at half the price of the Mobil1 V-Twin Synthetic, I like it! This is such a great website! As to Cappadawgs question, it's like Erbman02 says, look at the API ratings circle. What I did when I went to the store was to compare API labels on a quart of the Mobil1 15W50 to a quart of Mobil1 10W40. You can plainly see that the 10W40 says "Energy Conserving" which is API speak for "has friction reducers".
