You are entitled to your opinion as well as am I. But, your post comes across as bashing a vendor and their product that I am familiar with and use personally. My question is if you purchased 2 of their BAKs and they didn't "seal" then why didn't you call Barons to fix them? What exactly do you mean by it doesn't "seal"? If you are looking for a track/drag bike intake then the Force Velocity stack would probably be the best performance. BUT, is not really practical for everyday riding because it does not filter out the fine particles.

I like Barons but, if they were putting out a subpar product and not standing behind it then it's open season.

In my personal dealings with Barons they have always stood behind their products 100%, My first dealing with Barons was when I bought a BAK for my VStar from an online store and didn't get the mounting brackets. The online store said it wasn't their problem, contact the manufacturer, which was Barons. I call them, explained the situation and they overnighted the parts to me at no cost or hassle. Another time when I was rejetting my R* and was having an issue with the needle (my fault) they offered to let me come to their shop and they would help me figure it out.

I do hope you find the best air kit for your R*

Steven

I've heard nothing but disapointment about the hypercharger.

i´ve come across some quite conflicting views regarding hyperchargers.

the standard model flows 280cu/ft min, and the pro flows 420 cu/ft min, so getting the air in isn´t a problem. what does tend to be a problem is `mechanics´ doing the jetting for them when they ain´t got a clue what circuit does what in a carb. just re-set the carb on a sportster with a hypercharger that was imported from the states, and it was set up in an.... interesting manner.

some have said that the butterflys opening and shutting cause changes in the airflow, but underneath there is a wide slot tha lets air in as well, so any `ram air effect´ would be negligable if any, and certainly not enough to upset the jetting

i´ve fitted more than a few for folks and they´ve all been satisfied.

as far as performance goes, they´re as good as most on the market. i run a pro model and am quite satisfied with the results

I have a Hypercharger on mine. No problems and runs really good. The guy I bought the bike from said he didn't like the Hypercharger when he first got it, then he took it to a Hyper "Guru" who rejetted it and it ran fine!

I have the barons bak and love it, no problems at all.... mkonantz was referring to a post he made about the bak a few days ago where he claimed the bak was ruining his afr with a leak...... not possible on the intake side of the carb. there's something else going on with his scoot and he's blaming barons. now a leak on the other side of the carb on the manifold could easily mess with the afr. do you have the hsr carb? and if so did you remove the two nubs on the manifold to allow it to seat deeper in the manifold for a better seal? just trying to point you in a couple other directions besides bashing a vendor that I have seen nothing but quality from.
