I've got a xs650 that has chrome fenders. It might have "bed liner" fenders after I chop them.

My new project is a midnight star, I'm going with the flat black on the tank and fenders, accenting with a shiner black and chrome i may use that instead.

"Black, the NEW chrome!!"

That does look nice I have a 2002 Ural with crummy chrome side covers. I'm betting your process would result in a much improved look. Thanks for the tip. I also like the idea of making the stock air cleaner flat black/textured. Here we go again.............

If you want the hammered look I think Krylon or one of the other name brand paint companies have a couple different colors of hammered paint. It's just paint not bedliner. Just another option.

I have a friend who has built a couple of bobbers and he has done the whole bike like that. Looks pretty cool and very durable and gas resistant. And, if you scuff up the chrome good, no primer is needed. Same goes for the tins. My buddy has done three bikes like this and the first was 3 years ago and has had no problems pealing...
