Hi, Welcome to the Clinic! I live in the Phoenix metro area. Temps in the summer here exceed 115 often. I've had my roadie for 5 years now and she's only once overheated. That was sitting in 110+ temps in traffic because of an accident. Just pulled her over and let her cool down for a few minutes and off we went. She doesn't like to sit in traffic. I have an '04, the year notorious for SVS and I have never had it. I had some issues with bad plugs along time ago, when the bike was new, but I believe it was because the bike was rejetted wrong (to rich). That was fixed. My stator went out after two years. My fuel sender (for the gas gauge) went out about 2 years ago. My bike is very reliable. Other than what I mentioned, batteries, oil changes, tires, other standard maintenance issues, the only other money I've spent has been on accessories. She's been on 3K+ mile road trips and no problems other than a sore butt.
