Nostalgia or Star Bars Questions 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I'm thinking of going with some new bars and I like the way these bars make the bike look oldschool.

If you're running them are you happy? I read a lot of old posts that say you need to go with a 2 inch longer brake line with the nostalgia bars is that the same with the star bars?

Does anyone have a set laying aorund they want to get rid of?

No, you don't have to do a thing if you put on the Star Bars. Just change out the bars......

My son put a set of the Star Bars on his `05 Midnight Star and he loved them. They definately give you more leverage and the bike feels light as a feather.

I had the star bar put on without any cable mods and what a much better riding position and found that it has better handleing and less effort to steer at any speed.

Who has the best price on them? Anyone selling theirs?

What about the grips? Do you have to replace them too?

i got big Jhonson , almost the same but thick 1.25 inches . well, great bars give you the old school look you are looking for, but on the headwind u feel the more wind resistence cuz they are 36'' wide (maybe cuz i dont have a windshield)

I have and really like the Nostalgia bars. More of a classic look IMO. You will have to get new grips if you have the stock ones though. Iso Grips are only about $70. You can use stock cables if you run them under the tree. It's tight but, it will work. For me it was a good excuse to get SS cables

Hey Steven. I am curious as to what extra length cables you got to hook up the new bars. I am going to be putting on the Nostalgia bars this winter. My stock brake line is already pretty tight with the stock Silverado bars, so I was thinking plus 4''. And for the clutch and throttle was thinking plus 2''. Any comments would be great!

Thanks, Greg...
