The date has not been set yet , they still have to see how many people are going to put their names down , usually its 100 riders in 4 groups of 25 .I believe that they fly to the US ,hire HD have their own people in case of breakdowns and their luggage follows behind in a truck , anybody ( from Ireland ) who is interested in doing the run must rise a certain amount for the Charity and needs to do a pre-run course to make their skills are good enough ,Im sure if anybody want to join them for some stages of the run they would welcome the company , the riders who do the run are usually in the older age group and the idea is to enjoy the run not see who can do it the fastest - hope to do it myself in a couple of years time

Farmalldanzil here - here are some suggestions for Route 66. My wife has written several articles on Route 66 in Oklahoma. Heaven forbid if you run into problems while making this trip you can always contact one of us Okies on the Roadstar Clinic. I believe there are several Okies on here. Keep us informed we may be able to ride portions of it with you in Oklahoma
