Hooker Fourbidden exhaust For Yamaha RS1600 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I have looked in earlier posts about this exhaust, but could find nothing.
Does anyone have any comments or remarks about the Hooker Fourbidden RS exhaust?
Thanks!

First time I've heard mention of it. Where did you find it? What is it? I mean, is it duals or 2-1 or just 2-2?

BTW You should take the time to introduce yourself

It uses 2, 1 3/8" pipes per cylinder, merging into a 4 into 1, 3" collector. Looks like an 8 cylinder car motor header on a Roadstar. Very nicely built, stout pipes and baffle, chrome ceramic coated finish.
Just looking for some info, results when this system is used.

As a brief introduction, I have been riding for over 30 years on a wide variety of machines, Japanese and American. I an not partial to one over the other. I drag race often and crew chief for a friends Funny Bike, which runs low 7's at 180+ mph. I work for an electronics company who designs and builds ignitions for both the american and japanese bikes, drag bikes, off road, etc. Thank you !!

I picked up a set of them in May(Thanks Uncle Sam) and have been overall satisfied with them. The reasons I'm not Super-satisfied is I had an issue with the pipes touching the transfer case originally. I had to bend the lower stay outwards, use 2 washers between the muffler and the stay and put 2 sets of the Fel-Pro gaskets in the heads to fix the clearance issue. They are HOT!!! No Heatshields... I thought it wouldn't be an issue but it was. I wrapped the pipes with header wrap which toned down the excessive heat, but haven't been smart enough to figure a method to deflect the heat at the pipe bend at the head on the rear jug. Wasn't too much of an issue in upsate NY, but now that I live in Phoenix, AZ I REALLY notice the heat on the back of my right leg. That was the bad...

They Look cool...I haven't seen a set on any other bike since I got them. The sound is unique. Idle is a low, quieter, deep rumble, crack the throttle and they Roar. I had the Bike Dyno'd a few weeks ago and all standing around Rubber-Necked to see what was going on. The Operator asked what pipes were under the wrapping and mentioned that they were the best sounding pipes he has heard in a Long Time. They gave back some low end Oomph over the V&H Long Shots w/thunder monster baffles that I had on before them. Over all I would say buy a set as long as you don't pay retail for them. I sniped an auction for them and got them delivered for just under half price.

Thank you, that was what I was looking for!. As I ride primarily 120 plus miles per day freeway (in So Cal) the heat may not be too much of an issue. Did you have to rejet over the longshots, or was the jetting stock? I currently have a high compression 1600, Dyna 3000 ignition, stock bore, stock carb and air box, ported intake (stock) removed AIS, stock headpipes with Roadhouse fishtail slip ons. Runs great as is, but a touch cold blooded. Once warm, very strong and fast. I was just looking to change her looks a little.

Thanks for the welcome. I have read this for years and really never had a question until now.
I can live with the cold performance. She warms up pretty fast.

I didn't have to rejet from the LS to the 4Bidden. My setup is listed under my profile if you want to take a look. If you can get them under retail price I say do it. The only reason I haven't gone back to putting the LS on is the sound of the Hooker pipes. I REALLY do like the sound and have to admit did a pretty kick-ass job wrapping them. You may not have the clearance issues since you ride the 1600. Mine is a 1700. I don't regret the pipes. The Heat isn't noticeable at speed only after a run and idleing at a stop sign or light.
