Curt that won't work the relief is way to short. I know ms1700 had a setup run for awhile but the hose and stock manifold didn't pass the test of time.

4 points to get it to stay on? Do you like that Ben Herr that much? I think I'll stick with Curt's ported stocker.

Hey Paul he is sick but yamaha went thru several stock intakes and couldn't get a seal. The Ben Herr sealed the intake to spigot is poor I have a 42 carb and had to make a spacer to hold in the 42. Believe it or not the 42 and 45 spigot is smaller than the 40 go figure.

I blew the carb off of my ole Shovelhead once. Only time it ever happened in my 40+ years of riding.

If you want good fit, serviceability and reliability, stick to stock the gain isn't enough to outweigh the worry.
If I knew I could get a stock one to seal I would be back to Curt's ported manifold myself.

And the four points on contact is a bar just like yours on top and one that goes across just like it on the bottom going across the side of the bowl where the screws go up that hold the bowl. Looks pretty good but more crap to line up when you have it off.

Ben can make a manifold specific for the 42hsr, but it won't ever fit the stock carb, and the manifold he makes for the stock carb, a 42hsr will fit as long as you shim under the friction boot connector.

Don't discount the speedstar manifold, it's made to fit the 42 or the 45..been running one for a couple of years now and no problems...

Thats why I went with the nemesis, I was a little concerned about a friction fit, However, the Nemesis boot is garbage, I replaced it with radiator hose.
