Re:How fast is your roadstar 2 Years, 6 Months ago
My newly aquired 06 silverado with road Burners,90mph (by my self)& still climing when i backed off it.

At my age it's all about the felling or the trq from a big v-twin when accelorating that's fun & not going a million mph,90mph was plenty.

I did that just to see what the bike could do just in case i needed to for what ever the reason in the future like accidentially pulling out into traffic tha going considerably faster then i ext[pected and need to get out of the way or need to know how the roadie would do when passing a car,it did just fine IMHO esp for the lrg bike it is.

My other bike i have owned since new and riden for over 33 yrs ,well it it comes out of 3rd gear at 105mph/ redelined ,comes out of 4th at 130-135mph /redilned,and then when it hit 5th backed ogg it at approx 140-145 mph with it still slowly climbing but better sence kicked into my head and thats enough even though i was only a 25yr toungin at the time which was many many MANY!! moons ago./LOL!!!

Ok,i guess i should tell you its a 77 kawaski kz1000 thats bone stock accept for a kerker 4 into 1 and thats it.

But i surely dont ride it like that anymore, thats for sure.

BTW,yesterday i was almost run off the road when i was on a 3 lane highway with cars all going same direction @ approx 65mph. I was in fast most left lane passing a car when the driver of the car in middle lane decided to vear left into me never looking before changing lanes/quickly turning left to get into passing lane to pass slower car ahedd of him.

Was a good thing i was on top of the sitation esp with wife on the back,i got all over the horn while at same time gettign on the brey newly aquired 06 silverado with road Burners,90mph (by my self)& still climing when i backed off it.

That was a close one and luckily the driver head my horn and finally saw me at the last poss second when he was like 5" from hitting me and i had run out of room to the left of him.

My with was screeming like hell ,it scared the heck out her,but thank god we made it out of that situation ok .(PHEW)

I've seen 120 twice on my Roadie. Once with a 150 tire on back and she felt like she had more but I ran out of nerve and once with a 160 tire on the rear and she felt like that was about all she had. To old to not know better than these kind of antics but something about that big V twin, loud pipes well I may be long in the tooth but I've still got a little of the Hell Raiser in me yet.

I hit light speed once and that was stock. I am too afraid to see what she will do with all the mods. Anyone know how to get all the space dust off the paint?

You guys are going to get me in trouble. I'm itching to go see what it will do now. Didn't know and didn't really care before. Can't stand the points on my driving record. Seems the only time i get pulled over is when i am on the roady. Rode double up and loaded with gear across southern New Mexico ahead of a storm and it pulled good at 90mph.
