Tail wag 2 Years, 6 Months ago
With the saddlebags on I never really noticed how much the rear fender "wagged" till my lower pipe fell off while riding yesterday. Got the long (Samson Shogun Classic) 2 piece pipes and, even though they were quite tight, the pipe vibrated itself off. Already shortened them for cornering but I'm probably gonna have to take some more off, brace the fender better AND figure out a way to keep the pipe bracket from doin' the high speed hula.

Sure your idle is set correctly? Most who have a severe tail wag have too low an idle. Idle should be set when engine id fully warmed. Geeze, pipe fell off? First I've ever heard of this.

My wifes bike shot a baffle at me going about 60. that was exciting. Sucks about the pipe I imagine it did a job on pipes finish.

Mine had a bad wag and still does. Turning the idle up helped but it still has it. Keep an eye on that rear fender greyphart, it can and will crack on you. Mine cracked an inch or two below the end of the subframe on the left side. Gave me a reason to start some customization Cut about 18" off the rear fender Kinda scary out there with a die grinder and a file.

Cappdawg, I like the looks of your mod. It kinda throws off the balance of the look (full front fender vs chopped rear) but it's strangely appealing. Gotta do some thinking on this one. Like how saddlebags would look, etc.
And Erbman02, I don't know where the idle is set. I'll have to take a spin and play with it. Got some rethinking to do about the pipes also. Maybe slice some more off.
