RM Stator

They say the output is 35% over stock. I'm waiting for a return email as to the true amp output! Electro Sport is taking a long time! The RM stator with new regulator is $265.00

I remember checking that RM one out and came to the conclusion that it's 35% over stock for the 1600 charging system, and I think that puts it right there with the 2005+ system's stock numbers. I was all excited, and then found out that the 2004 (like I have) is the only 1700 that uses the old anemic stator/rectifier system from the 1600s. I thought about getting an upgrade by getting a stator & rectifier for a 2005, but just decided to wait for Electrosport...

RK

That must be why RM has not answered my email. They told me it was 35% of over stock but I asked for true amp rating and they have never answered my back.

I just went to the RM site and did a search for the Roadstar and every time it came up empty. Anyway I plan on upgrading my 99 this winter and am wondering who has the best price for the 05+ 1700 stator/rectifier setup. Don't really want to go to the steeler.

RK,

If you know exactly the part#s you want, Yamaha Sports Plaza in Seattle *** (888) 977-7278 *** is very hard to beat. They advertise 30% off OEM parts, but they make up for some of that with slightly higher shipping pricing and handling fees. (They gotta make a buck, right?).

Many have had very good luck with YSP in Seattle, but I have had many orders screwed up because I placed my order via email or phone (rather than online, from their ordering system). I try not to deal with them anymore. Instead, I get my parts from Yamaha Sports Center in Texarcana, TX.

These guys REALLY know Road Stars. They are huge and have been around a long time. They are extremely helpful and flexible and resourceful. They only charge the shipping amount that it actually costs them to ship, and no handling fees. Their bottom line price is very close to YSP's price, plus I feel so much surer that I'll get what I thought I ordered.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Randy--

I've dealt with the YSP in WA once, and had a good experience with them (fuel sender unit). I'll have to check out the one in Texarkana...not that anything is ever going to break on my bike again...

stator and rectifier at south seattle is $247.31 + shipping
at yamaha sports center it is $250.32 + shipping.

Interestingly the recitifier is cheaper at yamaha sports center, but the stator is more. Don't know who's shipping costs are cheaper.
