Yep, I live near Ventura. I've taken that coast ride up thru Big Sur and onto Alice's Resturant. Have only been as far as Point Reyes Lighthouse just north of SF. The whole ride is beautiful. South of Ventura along the coast stop in at Neptune's Net, then onto Malibu. After that Santa Monica and all the beach cities south of that is just stop and go city traffic

If you find your self at the South end of PCH, TROB and I live here in North County, San Diego and will join you for a ride as you head back up North.

We just took a trip up to Monteray & Big Sur towards the end of last summer. Man, can you say beautiful. I did not have my bike yet, but now that I do. I can not wait to take that trip again..

I did Cape Blanco Oregon to Monterey in June(10 days, 1650 miles). I live in Sonora. I headed from here to Stockton, took 5 to Redding, 299 to Willow Creek, 96 to Happy Camp. Greyback to O'Brien OR, 199 to 101, North to Cape Blanco. Then turned back South and ran as close to the ocean as the roads would allow. Even took 211(Lost Coast Road) from Ferndale to Bull Creek, and made an overnight jaunt down to Shelter Cove.
If my life settles down some by Spring I'd be up far another run.
My best advice,,, get as far North as you want to go on the FAST roads,, then take the 1 down. It puts all the great vistas on your side. I have all my stops in a log, if anyone's interested. With the exception of a rear tire in Redding, I did the whole run on less than 400 bucks, even with a couple nights in motels.

Here are the pics from that ride. Some are "R" rated, but not too "R". A guy has to give a good salute to his buddies on a ride like that, LOL.

I've done Morro Bay to S.F. every year for years. It never gets old, but Santa Cruz can be a PITA in the Summer time. Ultra,, I can ID every one of your shots,, LOL.
