I had Cobra's once. The flanges that meet the exhaust port are crap. I never could get them to seal. Before you get to the torque value (13lbs. for Kawasaki) the flanges were bending. I would not consider Cobra because of that.

I like the way they sound. Especially when it is idling and when you gas it to downshift.

I have Cobra LS? on an 06 Silverado and I like the way they sound and look as well. I just purchased this bike used a couple of weeks ago so that is the reason for the ?. They look like Hotelfox's. Btw, the baffles are out of mine but I have them. How do you go about putting them back in? I would like to hear what it would sound like with them in. Thanks

On the inside by the back tire there are two Allen head screws that hold the baffles in. Take the screws out, use a cotter pin extractor to reach in and pull the baffle out.

The stock long baffles are not going to quiet it much, they add a little back pressure so oddly enough you make a little more horsepower. There should be two small baffles that look to have a washer welded to a bent angle. That's for when the cops shove a broom stick up your pipe they hit something because some states outlaw straight pipes.

The new Quiet Baffles really do a good job of toning them down for around the neighborhood or when you have a passenger on the back.

You can change them in seconds, really. Take the screw out, pop the baffle out and slide the new one in ( put the screw back in!) and you have a different sound!

Try and see which one you like best!!

Cobra is not a bad pipe , but my $$ goes to V/H well before it would Cobra. Those of us who remember Cobra from 15-20 years ago have a hard time forgetting their inferior quality. They are a better co. now , but I still prefer V/H. BB
