Trouble bolting on Rinehart exhaust 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I'm having trouble installing a set of used Rinehart pipes that I bought on ebay and I am beginning to think that I may have been given the wrong mounting bracket. With the exception of the bracket the pipes seem to fit my bike. I have a 2006 R* and the pipes came off of a 2005 R* so the fitment should not be an issue. Rinehart no longer makes this particular model.

If the pipes are correct as advertised and if the bracket is correct, I can not get the mounting bracket to align with the pipes. The mounting bracket can attach to the frame in several different positions (I'm sure that only one of them would be correct) but none of them will come close to the corresponding mounting location on the pipes. I am used to making things fit even when they are not supposed to, but I an at a loss here! Anybody recognize this model of pipe and can verify if the bracket is correct?

Is it possible you got a set for the Road Star Warrior?

The pipes were advertised as fitting a R* rather than the warrior. When I finger tighten the header bolts so that the header flanges sit flush against the exhaust ports the pipes appear to line up on the bike correctly. Its the mounting bracket that I'm having trouble with. I have contacted the seller and he is "checking on things and will get back with me" but you can guess how that could go. My hope is that someone here has this same exhaust system and can verify if the bracket in the pic looks like the right one.

Too funny I was reading your post and I went to reply so I logged in and you had dropped me an IM.

I remember doing the pipes and they were a little tricky to get lined up. I still have the original packaging so I will see if I have the directions. There were parts of the old exhaust I had to remove to bolt up the ne mounting bracket.

I'll get back with you tonight.

I will say one thing though when you get these on they are bad as hell!

I've been looking at the bracket that came with your pipes and I can tell you it doesn't look like mine but mine is staggered so don't know if there isn't a different bracket for those.

You have to remove the mount for the stock exhaust on the rear side of the frame. Then the bracket u-shape mount around the frame in the existing frame holes. If that makes sense.

FYI , Warrior heads and Roadstar heads have a different exhaust opening. so if those pipes "mock up" , they were not for a Warrior. BB

Rinehart pipes are made by BUB ENTERPRISES; see if you can get hold of them.
