Squeaky brakes 2 Years, 2 Months ago

Is it normal for my front brakes to squeal on my Roadie? I got used to noisy brakes on my sport bikes because they all had racing-compound sintered pads, but I don't remember my Shadow squealing like this. I've heard that the Roadies brakes were "sampled" from an older R1 or some sporty bike, but do you guys experience this? The pads are the original ones from 2000 (my stepfather bought this bike new, but barely put 1500 miles on it for 7 years). The pads are plenty thick & the rotors looks good. I thought about sanding the pads, but I tried that on my Concours & it didn't help. Is there a better aftermarket pad I can try? Do you guys have any recommendations?
