BONEHEAD move of the month!!!! 2 Years, 6 Months ago
Been a crappy day weather wise and not much to do on the scoot so figured cleaning the garage was in order. Everything going okay till I decide to move my scoot and blow out the cobwebs and leaves and crap, since I am to lazy to sweep, go to back the bike out of the garage and slip on some wet leaves and crap just outside the garage door and YEP you guessed it DROPPED MY BIKE.
Man let me tell you mad or pissed off just don't even come close to my attitude at this point.

Well I am not on here to just let everyone know I am an idiot, but to recommend to EVERYONE take a look in the tech articles and review the Safety one that shows PROPERLY how to lift your bike if it is on its side. I have two ruptured discs in my lower back and using the method in the article I had no problem getting my boy back on his feet. Great article to keep in your knowledge tool box just in case.

There is some good news luckily, if you can say that, dropped it on its left side so it rolled onto my lindby bars up front which I have wrapped in leather and on my single side bag on the back. Scuffed leather is ALOT easier to deal with than scratched chrome or paint.

Once again an article here in the clinic to my rescue.

Well at least that was the extent of it. I have read that article and also wateched a couple of video on you tube explaining the same thing. It is some good knowledge to have.

Glad is wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Don't lose any sleep over it.
It sucks that it happened but could have been worse.

Or you could have done my bonehead move over the summer. Hit the right side of garage entrance, manuevering around my wife's truck to get in garage. Broke a passing light and had to replace the right floor board and rebend a few things in the process. But it's all good. Peace!

I read that article before the first time I dropped mine, and by the end of last year, I was a pro! Dropped it 4 times last summer, and once on wet leaves! Hate them! I wasn't as lucky as far as damage goes, it seams like everytime she falls over, I break one of the passing lamps.

Well I was not going to tell but... I had the tank off to change plugs and put a new sender in. Had the tank on what I thought to be a sturdy surface...well low and behold the damn thing shifted and hit the floor. I could see the light getting dimmer as I about passed out... Had to sit down to cool off. Now I've got a nice crease right in front of the filler.... Don't know what do do about it right now.

Been there don that TWICE in the first 2 weeks of owning my my new (to me) R*. Once in the garage as I was dismounting but caught it just before it hit the floor (carpeted), That was a stupid move but instinct/reaction was to grab it and man-handel it back upright. I got lucky and didn't hurt myself or the bike. The second time it was out on the driveway, I just got off and went to open the garage door and heard CRUNCH. Bike on its side and crushed left front lolypop. That was pre Crash bar. Both times were due to kickstand errors. Ya see my previous scoot (82 Honda FT500 Ascot) had a kickstand that all you had to do was give it a little flick of the foot and it would snap out into position. I found out twice that was not the case for the R* and it only deployed as far as my foot took it, obviosly not far enough. I lubed the stand up good and now it pops out as it should but I still check it and have since installed the crash bar.
LUBE UP YOUR KICKSTAND BOYS
