Harley Fairing install 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I finally got me a HD inner and outer fairing to install on the bike

After reading the Tech article on the fairing install, I have a question... on the bottom of the outer fairing, there are two mounts... has anyone that has installed the HD fairing used them for support of the lower half of the fairing? Does the lower half of the outer need to be supported? I am searching now for a HD headlight assembly for the fairing, cause I am giving my father in law my headlight bucket for his trike project... I would think that there would need to be some kind of support because of the weight... or am I just over thinking things here?

Other than that, I have a couple of repair areas to fix and then I will get busy on making some brackets to mount it to the bike... any info would be greatly appreciated!

I used them for support on mine . I just mde 2 liitle braces. I don't have pics but I'll try to get some. Also HD makes a glove box that makes the radio install a peice of cake. I you have gone pumpless use that wire for all your power needs to the fairing.

Hey Stonecoldstar
Congratulations on your new fairing.
I bought a pair of copy cat cougar brackets from a guy on Delphi. You may be familiar with them. They appear to bolt to your inner fairing and attach to the triple tree and hook over your top windshield bolt.
I payed him to make a set for me but in the meantime I could not wait, and I built my own bracket for the outer fairing only. (Not planning on installing an inner).
Any whoo, if you want these brackets, I paid $103.00 including shipping.
Also just sold on ebay last week the harley double bulb headlight and trim rings that came with the fairing.(you probably did not need to hear that...Sorry
I set my outer fairing up to remove it like a factory windshield utilizing my mounted stock headlight.
If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.
And always show pics of your project

You are killin me here! Now, the headlight, I probably would have taken off your hands... but I cant affod to put out the money right now for a HD headlight and mounts... so it has to be one or the other for me... I can make my own mounts... have welder will travel, ya know... If I come across some extra cash flow, I will see if you still have the mounts... but I need to find a headlight assembly first... Thanks for the offer...
