Scratch Removal 2 Years, 6 Months ago
Okay, The other day, my Roadie decided to teach me a lesson about paying attention & pitched me off.(no bones broken but these ribs sure to hurt!) Anyway, the damage to the bike is very minor. Some small gravel scratches on the crash bars (the highway pegs took most of the impact) and a few scratches to the windshield.
Anyone know a really good way to polish out the chrome scratches and/or the windshield? The windshield is the stock Yamaha, which I assume, is polycarbonate.

Good to hear your ok,
I've uesd the sanding kits for headlights on my windsheld for deep scratchs, and then used a plastic buffing compound to finish it.
I get both prouducts from automotive stores ( autozone,Advanced auto,Carquest, ECT.)
I can't help with the chrome, I've never had any luck with anything.

Good luck, Mike

Chrome? Depends on how deep. If its a minor scratch, you MIGHT be able to polish it out, but chances are, you'll still see it. I can polish a deep scratch out using diamond compound and a meanite ( sounds like me-ah-nite ) stick, the switch to a wooden stick, but it takes a while. ( The old Japanese way..... )
