I see a lot of people using R* for their bikes in the Forums. Please tell me this is just another computer shortcut and that YaMama hasn't gotten a case of the legal beagles about this clinic.
I went through that BS back in the 70's when AMF threatened everybody they would have to pay to use the term H.D. (payment would be gained one way or the other if ya know what I mean.) Easy Rider magazine started referring to Hoggly Fergussens just to get around the suits.
She's a Roadie to me and often acts like one.
But I call her Earl.

It's a typing shortcut buddy... nothing to worry about. We can say "Road Star" all we want here, and I'm sure Yamaha won't have a problem with it.
:-DD.

Yamaha has never given us a hard time about the use of their trademarked names in various places around the Clinic. We have had occasional brushes with their legal folks, mostly associated with copyrights for various things that have shown up around here from time to time. None of it was unreasonable given US Copy Right law.

I didn't know they could do anything about typing the name of a car, bike, or any other machine on a forum. Now if you post logos, that is a different story. I know the name is protected but it would seem to me any company would be stupid to threaten the public who use it online. That's free advertising.
