#239205 ZoomZoom (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 78 Air Filter: A neat trick 2 Years, 6 Months ago   Hi: My air filter was dirty,greasy and looked very grey. Blowing air was not an option because the filter was clogged with a mixture of oil and gas. I called my Yamaha dealer but he did not have one in stock. Since I had nothing to lose, I stuffed the filter in an old pillowcase, closed the pillowcase and threw it into the laundry. I used gentle wash cycle,cold water,and Tide. Next step was the dryer. The filter came out looking very clean, I did not see any damage. Installed it on the bike. The bike ran great. I had to decrease the idling because the idling had increased. Save money , go green. If Tide was good enough for Mom it's good enough for Yama-mama. Crazy idea I know, but it just might work. I know, not everyone has a parts washer, but almost everyone has a washing machine.
