Some will take a hairdryer and heat up the area a little (not too hot) and pry it off with a fingernail. Others will use some fishing line and "saw" the area between the emblem and the tank. After it's off you can spray some WD40 or a de-gummer of some kind to clean it up. Doesn't take much.

Be sure your fuel level is below the level of the badges, or the gas will absorb all the heat and you will never get them hot enough to soften the adhesive. A woman's hair dryer won't get too hot, no matter how long you hold it there. It took about 4-5 minutes of heating before mine came loose.

I found the best thing to remove the little bit of excess adhesive is good ole gasoline on a rag and a little bit of elbow grease. Just make sure you wash and wax the tank when your done. Also for the stubborn areas instead of using your finger nail (which you will feel for days) I have used a popsicle stick. I keep a bundle of them in my tool box b/c they come in handy for all sorts of things...mixing epoxies, spreading grease on things, etc. Good Luck!

When I took mine off, I used a length of heavy (80 lb. test) fishing line with a short wooden dowel tied to each end for handles. It worked great....just heat up the logo with a hair dryer, then put the fishing line behind it and pull back and forth gently to cut through the "gum".
It takes awhile, but saves your fingernails. Be sure to keep the line away from the paint, and you won't have any problems.

Just did mine last week I used a heat gunand a old credit card and they pealed off. The 3m double stick tape sucks though. Googone worked the best that and time and destroying my finger tips.
