Helpful Tool 6 Years, 7 Months ago

While changing needle position I slipped with needle nose pliers and broke one of the fingers off that hold the needle in slide. After waiting a week for a new slide I have been reluctant to move needle again because I just might slip again. I found a neat way to re-install needle and not have to worry about slipping. I took about 6 inches of 3/8 OD copper tubing and taped one end to cushen palm. The inside diameter just fits over the needle keeper and lets you apply even pressure strait down without cocking so it locks right in to place. Hope this helps you guys who have had trouble also.

dvblair: Has anyone cut off the heel portion of the shifter? I never use it and would like to have the extra room. I would like to remove it but it looks like you would need a spacer on the shaft and I'm not sure ...
